1. As a member of the International Bodyguard Association (IBA), I recognize that it is my responsibility to promote the professional development of myself and all men and women in the bodyguard profession.
2. I will always maintain the highest level of integrity and professional competitiveness in performing my duties, and do my best to fulfill the responsibilities assigned to me.
3. I will not engage in any unethical or illegal activity, or any activity that could jeopardize my responsibilities. I will also not use drugs or stimulants that could impair my judgment or ability to perform my duties.
4. I always keep an open mind and am committed to acquiring knowledge and information to discover new methods and systems.
5. I will act honestly in all my relationships, including with my subjects, fellow bodyguards, association members and managers, and business partners, and will adhere to the standards established by our founder, Lucien-Victor Ott.
6. I acknowledge that I have been entrusted with a great deal of trust and responsibility, and I dedicate myself to the advancement of the security profession and to the people I am charged with protecting.
7. I acknowledge that I am a member of a truly unique international organization and will not tolerate hostility or discrimination against any member on the basis of nationality, race, color, sex, or religious beliefs.
8. I will always represent myself truthfully to the principal, potential employers, IBA partners worldwide, and fellow members, and will not misrepresent my abilities or status.
9. I will not represent myself as an instructor or an official IBA member without the written permission of the IBA President, nor will I teach security techniques to others.
10. Finally, I am committed to achieving the highest standards in all areas of security work.
